Vivek Rae, a 1978 batch Indian Administrative Office (IAS) officer from Union Territory cadre, has recently exited as the Secretary for Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises (MSMEs). He has now been appointed as the new Secretary for the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Rae served as the Secretary for MSME Ministry for a brief tenure. He was appointed to the post in October last year.
He now succeedes Girish Chandra Chaturvedi in his new role. Chaturvedi retired from the post of Petroleum Secretary on January 31.
Rae’s appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
