The US-headquartered infotech company CA Technologies has invested in a new fund of technology-focused IDG Ventures for spotting start-ups and technology trends.
It, however, did not disclose the amount put into the venture capital fund, in what it called as a strategic investment.
As per a statement by IDG Ventures, the investment has been done in IDG Ventures India Fund II LLC, adding that the company will be a strategic, limited partner.
“With IDG Ventures India, we have a proven partner who can help us gain early visibility into the many enterprise software start-ups in the region that represent compelling investment opportunities,” said Jacob Lamm, Executive VP, Strategy and Corporate Development.
The investment will provide CA with a platform to nurture new ideas and innovations outside the constraints of an existing business, the company said in a statement.
It will also gain periodic proprietary updates on technology trends, market dynamics and the venture landscape, the statement said.
IDG Ventures' investments include fashion and lifestyle brand Myntra.Com and Apalya Technologies, among others.
