Travel start-up Guiddoo raises seed funding from angel investors

Travel technology firm Guiddoo has announced raising seed funding from top angel investors. The funding received by Guiddoo is a clear endorsement of its current progress and future prospects, and ambition to become a global travel technology company.

The investors in Guiddoo include Pawan Borle, SVP Fly Dubai, who is a serial investor; Abrar Ahmad, Partner, Travel Capitalist Ventures; Nirmal Singh, Management Team Ducab; Vishal Shah, Founder, AcFin Consulting; Sanjay Shah and Ushik Gala who are Chartered Accountants by profession and serial angel investors in Indian start-ups.

“The funding will help us create curated content for the top 25 inbound destinations globally and build a solution for India specifically, which will be available in multiple Indian languages. We are also in discussion with leading venture capital Investors for series A funding. Dexter Capital Advisors is exclusive advisor for our Series A funding,” said Vineet Budki, Founder, Guiddoo. Founded in 2013 Guiddoo is an in-destination mobile app. It has been developed in India by a team of technology, travel and history lovers, who want to create a valuable tool for fellow travellers.

Available for Android and iOS, Guiddoo provides an in-depth and highly researched audio visual guide to world famous monuments and attractions such as the Taj Mahal, Statue of Liberty, The Colosseum, Eiffel Tower, Angkor Wat, as well as modern monuments like the Burj Khalifa. An interactive app it allows for social sharing from within the app. Guiddoo is both a response to and a replacement for audio guides and other alternatives that are currently prevalent in the market.

“With Guiddoo, we want to ensure that travelers get timely and trusted advice on where to go, need-to-know travel information and in-city details with information on monuments, parks, ticketing etc. We want to make it easier for a traveller to not only plan the trip but maximize his time during the trip by having all information at his fingertips,” Budki added further.

Guiddoo has over 100K downloads and continues to add 500-1000 new users a day. Further, Guiddoo’s business division provides plug and play solutions to leading travel operators (OTA's, Tour Operators, DMC's, Tourism Boards, etc) across the globe who want to engage the customers during their leisure or business trip.
