With President Pratibha Patil emphasising on the importance of SMEs for the growth of the nation in her address to the joint sitting of both the houses of parliament the government said it will “expeditiously” implement the recommendations of the Task Force on enhancing credit to the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
In her address during the joint sitting the president had said, “The MSME sector is vital for sustained and inclusive growth. The government will take necessary steps to implement the recommendations of the Task Force on MSMEs.”
The government said it would enhance the credit access, development of infrastructure and strengthening of the district industry centres to sector as suggested by Patil.
She also suggested the government to take measures to improve raw material supplies and provide marketing facilities.
