SkillPro to open 220 skilling centers across India; ties up with NSDC

SkillPro, with a mission to provide 1 million jobs, has entered into a partnership with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The partnership with NSDC and its funds will enable SkillProto provide skill training and placement to 5 lakh people under privileged people through 220 centers across the country.

SkillPro, a sustainable social venture, founded in 2008 has so far made a significant impact by changing the life of over 48,000 people especially in remote rural areas of the country at no cost to the candidate by partnering with government and CSR organizations.

Ananth Rao, Chairman, SkillPro, said, “SkillPro’s proven business model allows skilling people in a scalable sustainable manner and in making a large social impact. It also caters to the demand of the industry which needs skilled talent, hence, contributing to the economic growth. We have a highly experienced and passionate team focused on achieving our mission of skilling 1 million people and putting them in jobs and half of this will be achieved through NSDC funds. On a personal front, empowering people by getting them their first job has been close to my heart.”

Dilip Chenoy, MD & CEO, NSDC, said, “SkillPro has proven expertise in executing skill development solutions and leverages technology in a way that was not seen before in the skill development space. We partnered with SkillPro to scale such impact. I look forward to seeing them repeat their success at Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and other states across India.”

SkillPro is focused on placement linked skill training. Today, it is working with more than 100 organizations ranging from government, international agencies, corporate and NGOs. It trains people on specific skill as per the requirement of these organizations. It has a wide network of over 60 skill development centers and has presence across 16 states in India. Currently, the company is skilling people on 40 different types of skills across 6 sectors - IT / ITES, Automotive, Construction, Retail & Hospitality, Capital Goods & Manufacturing, Healthcare industry.

As per industry experts, by the year 2022, more than 500 million people will need skill training and also the industry needs more than 350 million skilled people to just sustain the current growth. However, such skills and also life skills and basic technology skills are not core to our education programs. Therefore, there is a huge potential for skill development and SkillPro aims to bridge this gap in a profitable and scalable way.

SkillPro uses latest technology to manage centers and deliver digital training content especially to remote rural areas. The company is also engaged in skill centric research and analytics and helps the organizations understand the kind of skills required for a particular geography, trade, people, etc. and further facilitate the job creation through its skill development centers. As of now, SkillPro has trained and placed its students across more than 500 companies that work with SkillPro.
