As Intellecap steps into a new decade with heightened ambitions to make a difference to the world of impact entrepreneurship, intellecap welcomes a new MD on board.
Richard has had a long and distinguished career in law, venture capital, investment banking, and as an independent financial advisor to a wide variety of firms around the world. He was most recently the founding Managing Director of the Norwegian Microfinance Initiative (NMI). During his tenure NMI made commitments and investments of approximately US$ 70 million and was reaching more than 12 million microfinance clients through 80 MFIs in 34 countries. Before joining NMI, Richard was the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). UNCDF is an independent fund of the United Nations that made investments in Inclusive Finance and Local Development in the Least Developed Countries (LDCs). Richard is a graduate of Yale University and the Antioch School of Law.
As the Managing Director, Richard will provide overall leadership to the Intellecap management team and will give special thrust to Intellecap’s global expansion plans. Additionally, he will become a member of The Board of Directors.
