Proptiger acquires Bangalore-based real estate tech solutions provider Oobi

Online real estate advisor PropTiger.com has acquired Bangalore-based Out of Box Interaction (OoBI), a leading digital interaction design company that specializes in displaying real estate projects in an efficient and immersive way.

This acquisition will help Proptiger.com to significantly enhance customer experience online.

“The acquisition of OoBI is going to help us in offering our customers an excellent home search experience. OoBI will work as PropTiger’s design and innovation studio and offer products to delight, engage and inform home buyers,” said, Dhruv Agarwala, co-founder and CEO, PropTiger.com.

PropTiger.com has pioneered multiple technology and data driven innovations in the Indian market such as Property Portfolio, Livability and Safety Scores, Resale Price Estimates and detailed Micro-Market Trends and Analyses.

OoBI, a young startup co-founded by IIT-Bombay alumni Atish Patel and Kumar Ahir in 2012. The startup is mentored by Harpreet Singh Grover, co-founder of CoCubes.com. It offers interactive technology to showcase real estate projects which in the past have been displayed using conventional media. As part of its customer centric innovations, OoBI has devised interactive solutions for a number of businesses ranging from real estate to retail.

“We design futuristic interactive technology that benefit businesses and help their end customers visualize products digitally. Using the digital medium opens up enormous possibilities and can help customers understand product through customization, animation and other features. Our innovations help customers appreciate products better and help them make purchase decisions efficiently while providing them with a unique and memorable experience during their home search,” said Atish Patel, co-founder, OoBI.

OoBI’s multi-disciplinary team in Bangalore includes engineers, designers and researchers from IIT Bombay with expertise in large interactive screens and 3D visualizations. “Our solutions provide a life size perspective to property buyers with the help of augmented reality and address many questions which people have in mind while buying a home,” said, Kumar Ahir, co-founder, OoBI.

OoBI has developed Real Estate Experiential Zones to showcase real estate projects on large interactive displays for an immersive experience. “Buying a home is an investment of a lifetime, traditional media cannot adequately showcase important aspects of properties which are under development and doesn’t really provide sufficient information to justify an investment. Moreover, what is available in the market in the name of virtual reality is very basic. What OoBI’s design and innovation studio will offer to real estate developers and PropTiger.com customers will take the home buying experience to the next level,” added Patel.
