The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)-Eastern Region (ER) and the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BNCCI) organised review meetings to evaluate the bilateral trade ties between the two countries.
It was concluded during the meetings, which was attended by eminent people that as both India and Turkey are fast growing countries with impressive GDP figures, they present lucrative opportunities for promotion of investment and bilateral trade relations.
During these meetings, Turkish companies showed interest to invest in India. Some of which are Skotas and Celebi. Indian firms such as Wipro and Oberoi also showed interest in investing in Turkey.
Sectors such as agriculture, mines and minerals, automotive, textiles and textile equipment, food processing, IT and ITeS are said to be lucrative for the Indian SMEs.
