The pact which is called the ‘Framework for Cooperation on Trade and Investment’ aims to aid trade and investment between the two countries. The bilateral trades have doubled over the last five years.
The pact was signed by India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma and US Trade Representative (USTR) Ron Kirk. The launch of an initiative called ‘Integrating US and Indian Small Businesses into the Global Supply Chain’ was also announced by the two ministers.
