Big Data analytics start-up Germin8 has secured funding worth $3 million from Kalaari Capital. The funding will be used by Germin8 to strengthen its position in India through increased sales and marketing and fuel its foray into international markets. A significant portion of the funds will also be deployed for R&D and new product development.
Germin8 was founded in 2007 by father-son duo, Raj Nair and Ranjit Nair. The Mumbai based company builds products that enable organizations to make better decisions based on insights drawn from analysing unstructured data. Its proprietary stakeholder analytics platform takes stakeholder conversations from both public and private sources like social media, news, emails and chats, analyses them using proprietary text mining algorithms and presents them on live interactive dashboards.
Germin8 has developed a product called Explic8 which helps brands analyse conversation aggregated from public sources like social media & news sites and company-owned sources like emails & chats in real-time and convert them into leads. It also offers services like campaign analytics, industry and competitive analysis, category research reports and customer management services. Besides this, it allows brands to conduct influencer engagement campaigns.
It also has tie-ups with branding, market research, analytics & consulting companies like Avalon Consulting, Avalon Global Research, WPP’s Landor Associates and Ugam solutions to offer custom solutions to brands.
