'Sandesh One'will allow entrepreneurs to start their own ventures in areas like high-tech agriculture, preventive healthcare, etc by providing technology solutions to them.
Kerala State Women's Development Corporation (KSWDC), an organisation under Kerala's Department of Social Justice, said that it will launch 'Sandesh One', a first of its public-private partnership (PPP) social enterprise in Kerala to build a pool of trained women entrepreneurs, according to a PTI report.
The report also states that under the new project, one woman will be selected from each of the over 1,000 panchayats in Kerala for undergoing an IIM Ahmedabad certification programme in entrepreneurship. The six-month residential training programme will focus on developing and improving entrepreneurial skills and knowledge management.
The programme will make individuals more familiar about the products and services offered by 'Sandesh One' network through a product orientation programme.
"With 'Sandesh One' centres set up in every local body in Kerala, there will be huge employment generation opportunities at the grassroots level. Unlike conventional industries, social enterprise is about developing solutions for pressing societal challenges," said Panchayats and Social Justice Minister M.K. Muneer.
'Sandesh One' will allow entrepreneurs to start their own ventures in areas like high-tech agriculture, preventive healthcare, water management, waste management, renewable energy, deforestation, etc by providing technology solutions to them.
Under this initiative, KSWDC will facilitate loans, provide promotional support and ensure tie-ups with other stakeholders.
