“Launched in mid-May on the Android store, MyPoolin rocketed to the Top 10 new free apps in its category just 3 days after launch,” said the company’s official release.
MyPoolin was founded in January 2015 by Ankit Singh and Rohit Taneja, alumni of IIT Delhi, Delhi College of Engineering and FMS Delhi. MyPoolin launched as a web app and quickly gained traction on the website hitting Rs 10 Lakh in revenue in its first 4 months.
“As young Indians increasingly socialise over movies, events, trips and dinners, MyPoolin’s social focus on “planning” becomes important. Usually a user takes initiative of making plans for the group but get stuck paying the bill – and then badgering the rest to pay up! Moreover, the entire coordination and decision making is no less painful. Amongst the crowded payments ecosystem of innumerable wallets, MyPoolin’s unique take addresses a problem that hits close to home,” said Rohit Taneja, Co-Founder, MyPoolin.
MyPoolin is an aggregator of many mobile wallets and payment systems striving to provide inter- operability for seamless group payments.
