With the US market coming out of the recession, the Indian SMEs are beginning to show interest to invest in the market.
Siddharth Sarawgi, Director India Office, Fairfax County, EDA, revealed at a panel discussion, with Indian business leaders that in the last nine months a sizeable number of SMEs have been looking at becoming minority stake holders and partnering with the US firms. The business opportunities lie in sectors like life sciences, aerospace, defence, IT-related, education and healthcare.
Narendra Sarawgi, Director, India Office, Fairfax County, EDA further shared that SMEs in India have ambitions to venture global market but they are discouraged due to lack of network and information about taxes, legal requirements, and real estate etc. The Fairfax County is in process of offering such services to the SMEs. However, Indian companies are required to complete the requisite diligence.
