IndiaCollegeSearch wins Top 100 Red Herring Asia Award

IndiaCollegeSearch.com (ICS) has announced that it has won Top 100 Red Herring Asia award, which honors most promising innovative technologies and companies of Asia, in a ceremony held last week in Hong Kong. Riding on frugal innovation, IAN backed IndiaCollegeSearch has become the first education company from India to win the prestigious award.

“The award is a testament to our market leadership position in online search category for colleges with over 2.3 million users and sends positive signals that education sector is ripe for disruption with a growing opportunity and potential for the sector online,” said Anirudh Motwani, Founder & CEO, IndiaCollegeSearch.com.

“I am proud of IndiaCollegeSearch team. ICS has a great understanding of the space and their adoption of frugal innovation has disrupted the education space in India. I believe that education sector is at a technology-driven inflection point, confident of ICS’ promising signs in leading the transformational change in this sector,” said, Vikram Upadhyaya, Mentor & Angel Investor, ICS.

“Choosing the companies with the strongest potential was by no means a small feat,” said, Alex Vieux, publisher, CEO, Red Herring. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across Asia to the Top 100 Winners. We believe IndiaCollegeSearch embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. IndiaCollegeSearch should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was as strong as ever.”

While it is impossible to draw parallels between sectors, IndiaCollegeSearch winning the award shortly after gaining market leadership with over 2.3 million users, may signal that India’s education sector is ready to expand online and is set for further disruption.
