India, the second biggest cotton producer will soon be participating in a two-day workshop on cotton supply and its use in the 21st century, the Washington-based global cotton body ICAC Tuesday.
The conference with the theme, "Estimating cotton supply and use in the 21st century" will be held in the Chinese capital where in they will discuss how to improve systems of estimating supply and use of cotton in major economies.
The workshop, which will see representatives from all the big cotton producing and consuming countries will be hosted by China National Cotton Information Centre (CNCIC), subordinate to the China National Cotton Reserves Corporation under the State Council. The workshop will also discuss best practices in estimating cotton supply and use, gathering and evaluating data and coordinating different sets of data between agencies in the largest producing countries as well as improving accessibility of the data, the ICAC said.
