The government of Haryana has come up with a scheme to boost hosiery goods manufacturing in the state. According to an official spokesperson, the state government will be setting up a hosiery cluster at Darbi village in Sirsa while the Central government would initially spend Rs 6 crore to develop the cluster.
A building would also be constructed under Backward Regions Grant Fund on which Rs 60 lakh would be allocated, the spokesperson said adding that about 120 village people would be involved in making sweaters, shirts and uniforms.
MSME ministry had given the nod for creating a hosiery cluster in the village, the spokesperson said.
“This has become possible only because of the initiative taken by Haryana industry and commerce department. The establishment of such small scale industries will promote industrialisation,” the spokesperson stated.
“Sirsa produces 40% of the total cotton produced in the state and this area is famous as cotton belt in the country,” he added.
