Hewlett-Packard (HP) India has planned to start cloud computing-based solutions as a strategy for its small and medium enterprise business (SMB) clients. The plan has been adopted under a micro-market strategy for the SMB clients.
For this, HP has partnered with 150 Indian software companies and has already developed 8-10 critical applications. The company further plans to commercialise at least 30 to 40 specialised critical applications targeted at the various verticals in the Indian market like retail, education, healthcare etc.
Estimates suggest the adoption of IT in the Indian SMB market is much less though it can account for up to 50-60 per cent of the over-all market.
HP rolled out a new range of servers and storage solutions for the SMBs, which include a new range of server that can consolidate the requirement of 20 servers into a single one.
