Green House Ventures ties up with Nasscom, Google India\'s MD Rajan Anandan

After its recent collaboration with World Innovation Labs(WiL) and LetsVenture in the last quarter of 2014, Green House Ventures (GHV) has now tied the knot with NASSCOM and Rajan Anandan, Managing Director - Google India and an angel investor, in its ongoing effort to further strengthen the startup ecosystem in India.

Vikram Upadhyaya, Entrepreneur Evangelist and Chief Mentor, GHV said "The collaboration with Rajan and NASSCOM has multiplied the value proposition of GHV. We are happy to be the forerunners in creating a strong foundation for all startups that intend to scale, go global and in building and nurturing future Billion $ Babies."

Rajan Anandan, who is already associated with NASSCOM's 10,000 Startups initiative, will also be joining the mentor board at GHV. The value he will bring to GHV as mentor is multi-fold. Not only will he be mentoring the accelerator startups, as and when required, he will also provide valuable insights and perspectives on the Indian entrepreneurship ecosystem, thereby adding a different dimension altogether to the Accelerator Program at GHV.

Anandan, said, "I'm excited by what they're doing with the startup ecosystem in India."

Through these partnerships, India will be getting 10 startups every year, with a total sum of $1 million funding, and preparing these 10 startups every year for Series A funding and a growth of 10x within 12 months. This partnership will not only accelerate the growth of the startups, but will also accelerate the outcome numbers of NASSCOM 10,000 startups.

RajatTandon, Senior Director of NASSCOM 10000 startups, further adds, "Our partnership with GHV will accelerate startups with a comprehensive array of market research services, go-to-market assistance, funding support and educational/ networking opportunities which is utmost important in post incubationand early stage companies."

NASSCOM had launched the 10,000 Startups initiative in 2013, the aim of which is to enable 10,000 tech startups in India by 2023. Google and Microsoft are both partners in the ambitious programme, which is now in its third phase. Ravi Gururaj, Chairman, NASSCOM Product Council, had earlier stated, "(Through this programme) We are able to nurture innovative companies, aggregate them and provide resources to connect with them; else, these companies would be hard to discover."

As part of GHV's alliance with NASSCOM, while NASSCOM shall engage in marketing and outreach activities to evangelize technology entrepreneurship as a career option, GHV will provide accelerator support to the startups shortlisted for the Programme. GHV will actively participate in the startup selection process organised by NASSCOM and then review applications for selecting entrepreneurs into its acceleration programme.

Moreover, it will facilitate direct interaction between NASSCOM and GHV's startups. Befitting portfolio companies that are part of GHV's Accelerator Programme, will also be eligible for nomination to participate in the common demo days organised by NASSCOM.

Earlier in the year, GHV's partnership with WiL was not only to provide growth capital, but also the resources and connections to help startups from India go global, particularly in the technology and innovation hotbed - Silicon Valley.

WiL invests in startups with global appeal and disruptive potential, typically investing $5 million to $30 million in early, as well as growth-stage startups through multiple rounds of investments. In addition to capital, WiL is known to provide operational expertise and strategic partnerships to accelerate their portfolio companies' global expansion.
