Fashion jewellery and accessories startup Youshine has announced that it will raise Rs 25 crore to invest in internal marketing.
“The deal is likely to close with two to three months. The fund will be utilised to grow to 100 physical POS by 2018, invest in internet marketing (for our own E-commerce portal) and to launch a new category within jewellery.” said, Ashish Sood, founder, Youshine.
“We are looking to raise the fund partly from existing investors and for the rest, we are in talks with family offices and a couple of VCs as well,” added Sood.
Fashion jewellery and accessories start-up was founded by Ashish Sood and his wife Monika Sood. As a fashion-conscious customer, Monika felt there was a “pain point” in the Indian market when it came to fashion jewellery and accessories. Either international brands (Accessorise, Aldo etc.) were available or the street vendors.
The company informed that since 2012, Youshine has grown to over twenty Points of Sale showcasing the best of contemporary and affordable western-style Fashion Jewellery and Accessories at the best shopping malls across Delhi-NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat and Punjab.
“There was an opportunity to create an Indian brand for trendy fashion jewellery & accessories catering to cosmopolitan women, who wanted something new always at affordable prices. In addition, modern retail had just hit India in 2009, so it was good timing to launch Youshine,” Sood told Entrepreneur India.
