Out of 31 start-ups, 14 start-ups have garnered interest from the investor community.
TiE ISB CoNNect, jointly hosted by The Indus Entrepreneur – Hyderabad Chapter and Indian School of Business concluded with the participation of around 450 delegates representing entrepreneurs, various stage start-ups, investors, government, academia, research labs, incubators, etc.
“During the 3 day event, the investor community got immensely impressed with the start-ups,” said the press statement.
Out of 31 start-ups which had pitched to the VCs and PEs, 14 start-ups have garnered interest from the investor community for follow up action.
Earlier in the last day of the summit, a key note was delivered by Prof. Sridhar Seshadri, Senior Associate Dean, ISB who spoke on the topic ‘Make in India – What does it take to be world class?’
The day also featured insightful panel discussions such as ‘Opportunities and Challenges – Make in India’ which discussed the different opportunities in farm engineering, electronics, automotive and defence manufacturing sectors, ‘Opportunities: Research lab to market’ which pondered upon the goldmine of research and innovaton ideas that are waiting to go commercial
‘Opportunities in E-commerce’ which is a very hot sector currently and the ‘Opportunities in Media and Entertainment’- an emerging sector.
Speaking on the eve of the closing ceremony, Safir Adeni, President, TiE Hyderabad and Managing Partner, Ineda Venture Group and Aruna Reddy, Head of Entrepreneurship at ISB said, “We would like to thank all the start-ups, entrepreneurs, investors and VCs in helping us make our annual program a grand success. We are certain that the sessions and discussions conducted over a period of these 3 days will go a long way in adding value to the growth of the start-up community in Hyderabad. These will also change the investors and VCs’ perspective towards the kind of opportunities India has to offer and encourage them to invest in the ideas of our talented human capital.”
