Ten Indian social start-ups using technology has won the Google Impact Challenge. According to Google India Blog the Search Giant will give a funding of 32 crore to these start-ups.
In August Google Impact made it to Indian soils in search of the social entrepreneurs who would use technology to improve once community and the world. The impact challenge attracted thousands of applications for how to spark social impact in India. The proposals were so great that it took over 160 Googlers to review the pile and handpick the top 10 finalists.
The 10 finalists presented their concepts to the panel of judges which included Google’s Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora, Google board member Ram Shriram, Google Director of Giving Jacquelline Fuller, Social Worker and former Chairperson of Thermax Anu Aga and Omidyar Network India Advisors Managing Director Jayant Sinha.
