Creating wonders franchise way

With a mission to identify every child’s unique potential and affinity towards a particular section and develop their core competencies right from the childhood, Brain Wonders started its mission in India. It’s Founder, Manish Naidu spoke at length to Ekta Sharma Verma about his brand’s struggle and further expansion plans.

Tell us about your brand.

Brain wonders is an Indo-Malaysian unit. It boasts of being the only company in the world to have a US patented product. Armed with the best student counseling award in Indian National Awards and close to 76 Indian and four international franchisees, we are the biggest name in DMIT (Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test) industry today.

What motivated you to go for franchise route for your business expansion?

We did close to 12000 reports in the retail sector before we decided to franchise. Franchising for us was the only option to replicate our technical knowledge for the betterment of parents and children in a much faster way. The results were exhilarating. Within two years we touched close to 1.3 lakh reports which wouldn’t have been possible otherwise.

How do you analyse this industry?

The DMIT industry is a part of the much evolving recession proof education sector. Unfortunately there are few pirated companies originating from Gujarat and Delhi with little or no technical knowhow and run on pirated software which has no credible accuracy. But talks are going on with the Government of India which is in process of initiating stringent action against such companies who cheat gullible franchisees with false reports. Overall a cleansing time I would add.

What kind of opportunities and challenges are seen ahead in this sector, considering the franchise sector, which is getting bigger with time?

The RoI on Brain Wonders is more than 800 per cent YoY. Considering that both DMIT industry and franchising are on a growing stage, the opportunity is second to none. With Brain Wonders DMIT concept, our partners get a huge advantage in terms of positioning the concept to corporates and institutions because of our patented technology.

Kindly provide us expansion plans for this year and coming years?

With already four international centres, we are poised to have another nine centres by the year end. With major investor enquiries from the USA and Europe, we would have our centres in both the places. We have a very ambitious expansion plan of adding close to 100 centres in tier-I and II cities. Armed with international funding in a month, we have no doubts on overhauling our set targets.
