In a conversation with Rashi Mathur, Jatin Tehri, Director, ProEducation shares his plans to follow replicable model of franchising and expanding brand’s reach to tier II and III cities.
Elaborate about the journey of ProEducation. What all courses are offered by you?
The journey started in 2011 but the real boost came in 2013, when we established our studios and developed education system with the help of VSAT technology. Since 2013, we have opened more than 30 centers pan India covering all major parts of Northern and Eastern India. We have been offering chartered accountancy coaching since beginning covering all the subjects at CPT, IPCC and final level. Recently, we have got into XI and XII commerce coaching for all four major subjects- accountancy, mathematics, economics and business studies.
What makes ProEducation different from others?
We have a dynamic faculty quorum having an average teaching experience of more than 15 years. In XI and XII, our faculty has enabled the students score 99+ marks in various subjects, year-on-year basis. CA which is considered as one of the toughest courses in India is made light and easy to be grasped in a student friendly environment.
What made you choose franchise route?
We believe in inclusive growth and franchising is the best model to offer win-win situation for both franchisor and franchisee. In the form of franchise, we get an entrepreneur with similar mindset who believes in expanding the business at the ground level for mutual benefits. There is huge potential in CA and XI/XII Commerce coaching, due to increasing interest of students towards the commerce stream instead of medical and non-medical, especially in tier II and III cities
How many centres do you presently have?
We have five company-owned centres in Delhi, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Kolkata and more than 25 franchise centres in other parts of the country.
So, any cities on the expansion radar?
We are planning to open another 100 centres in the next two years. We are targeting tier II and III cities including Amritsar, Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Meerut, Noida, Jhansi, Varanasi, Patna, Patiala, Gwalior and Indore. Possibly, we shall be opening multiple centers in cities like Kanpur, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Delhi.
Do you provide any training to your franchisees?
We have a complete team of professionals managing the business. We provide product training and support at the beginning of the business and continue to render support on regular intervals.
What is your take on the increasing competition in education and coaching sector?
Competition paves way for consistent innovation. As stated earlier, looking at the potential of commerce domain, we got into XI/ XII coaching as well. This is like a backward integration to our CA coaching and we will keep on adding more products so as to keep our model profitable.
