SHAWARMA XPRESS is a Quick Service Restaurant concept that began operations with its first outlet in 2001, the first Drive thru in 2006 and in the Prestigious Bahrain City Centre Mall in 2008 . The Group has expanded rapidly totalling 10 units in Bahrain by 2008. Founded by two brothers- Saleh and Firas Al Khor, this innovative concept was developed after careful planning, intensive market research and valuable experience within the Quick Service Industry. Being passionate about the Shawarma, they identified the niche market for the Launch of Shawarma Xpress.
They launched Shawarma Xpress with the Company Vision.

The Shawarma Xpress concept was refined, researched and prepared for launching as a Franchisable business and it was launched as a Franchise in Early 2010.
In October 2010 the first Master Franchise was signed for the State of Qatar for 20 restaurants over a ten year period.
In May 2011 a second Master Franchise was signed for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region. This is for 30 restaurants over a ten year period.
The First Franchised restaurants for both Franchises were opened within 2 days of each other in late October 2011.
There are now Three restaurants built in Qatar and Four restaurants built in Eastern Region Saudi Arabia with more in the development stage.
In December 2011 Shawarma Xpress launched the franchise possibilities in India with the country being divided into three Areas. North/East, South and West. Shawarma Xpress have been successful in signing an Area Franchisee for the North and Eastern Region with a 50 unit agreement over the next Five years. The first outlet has opened on Janaury the 16th 2014. and the next 2 outlets will open before August 2014. Discussions are progressing in the two remaining regions of India.
In December 2013 Shawarma Xpress signed a master franchise in Yemen to open seven units in the next five years and the 1st outlet is scheduled to open in August 2014 and the next 3 outlets to open by January 2015.
In April 2014 a master franchise was signed between Shawarma Xpress and Bangladesh to open 10 units in Five years. The first two outlets are scheduled to open by December 2014.
The image of the restaurants has gradually evolved from an image of pure Fast food to a design creating the sense of comfort and peace, The combination of Earthy Colours mixed with Natural Wood finished has succeeded in achieving this feeling.
The food in Shawarma Xpress is based on the traditional Shawarma, succulent shavings of fresh chicken with two flavors, the original and spicy, wrapped in a variety of fresh breads. Shawarma Xpress goes beyond the norms and caters for all tastes by offering a variety of flavours “creating Shawarmas with international appeal.”
The product range concentrates on multiple choices. The sauces range from the traditional, Tahina and Toumia, to the more adventurous Mexican, Chili and Italian, to the true spice lovers Dynamite.
The menu ranges through 3 sizes of Shawarma with 10 main sauces. Additional Chicken, and a vast range of Vegetarian products and biryani dishes together with add on products (Fries, Cheese sticks, Drinks, etc…) to give to customer the widest range of choice.
